GENERAL INFORMATION
Westridge Primary School comes under the auspices of the Executive Committee of the Harare Hindoo
Society, which appoint members to the Education Committee to serve as the Board of Governors.
The Board of Governors oversees the day-to-day affairs of the Primary School. This body meets monthly
or earlier when the need arises, to monitor and review the academic, sporting and cultural programmes,
as well as deliberate on financial issues and staff concerns.
The Board is also responsible for the appointment of the Headmaster and teaching staff, who are
entrusted with the normal running of the school, including extra-curricular activities.
VEGETARIAN POLICY
Westridge Primary School operates under the auspices of the Hindu Society, which houses the Harare
Hindu Temple. Therefore the school adheres to a strict Vegetarian Policy. Parents are advised that meat
products in any form as well as alcoholic beverages are not permitted to be carried or consumed on the
premises of the entire school grounds. The same policy applies to pupils and staff travelling on the
Westridge School Bus. In keeping with this policy, parents are advised and cautioned against providing
their children with snacks/ lunches which contain any of the following: eggs, fish, chicken, pork, beef,
mutton, goat meat, or any meat flavourings. Failure to abide by these rules will result in disciplinary
action being taken.
