Overview of the ECD Department
The ECD provides an exciting and stimulating education for children, with teachers who embody our caring ethos.
Development of pre-reading and reading skills, language and communication skills.
Letters of the alphabet introduced using phonics (Letter-land).
Number activities.
Learning is consolidated using rhymes, music, movement and stories.
Creative activities including painting, cutting, collage, play dough and fantasy play.
Free play with educational games.
Outdoor play, including climbing, balancing skills and experimenting with sand and water.
The ECD Department has 6 classes catering for children aged 2-5 years from Playgroup to ECD B. The department also includes a state-of-the-art Computer Room to house 20 computers as well as a colourful and well-stocked Art & Music Room. The playground is fully equipped and includes a trampoline, heated swimming pool and petting zoo.
THE FACILITIES
The classrooms are large, airy, colourful and always decorated with the children’s work. This provides an important stimulus and a source of pride and positive achievement.
